Redemption Lutheran Family

Redemption Lutheran Church was incorporated as a congregation of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in 1955. From that time the congregation grew as the community of Bloomington also grew around us.

From shortly after the church building was built, until just a few years ago the church had also incorporated a school in many forms, starting from only a preschool to offering preschool through high school in association with other churches in Bloomington and Richfield.

The congregation itself is made up of many original members and their continued generations of children, as well as many others that have been drawn to the area and the warm family feel of the congregation itself.

THIS WE BELIEVE

We believe in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Who makes Himself
known to us in the written Word of the Bible. (II Timothy 3:16-17)

We believe that the chief message of the Bible is that God came to earth
in the person of Jesus Christ, true God and true man, Who through a
sinless life and a holy death on the cross paid our debt of sin so that we
live with God today and forever in heaven. (II Corinthians 5:1-4,20-21)

We believe our Lord is present with His people through His Word and
the Sacraments, working in our hearts to respond to His love for us by
serving Him and our neighbors. (Ephesians 2:8-10)

We want you to know this, to receive this as a true and to trust in the
Lord Jesus Christ so that you too can live with God today and forever in
heaven. (John 11:25-26)

Symbols of Redemption

RedemptionLogo

If you look at our church's logo we have several symbols surrounding the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod's cross.

The first is a star which reminds us of the birth of Jesus Christ. The second is a fish which symbolizes the ministry and miracles of Christ's earthly ministry. The third is a butterfly which reminds us of Christ's resurrection from death. Lastly, we have a nimbus which represents the glory of the ascended and reigning Lordship of Jesus Christ.
